It’s The Little Holes That Trip You Up!

Can you see the little hole my puppy dug? Want to hear a spiritual metaphor for how it’s the little holes that trip you up?

I may or may not have just come running down my stairs and stepped into a tiny little hole one of my dogs dug about two weeks ago. And I did nothing about it because… Well.

Because I thought no big deal is what I thought.

So then today I went running down my stairs, trip in this little hole, roll my ankle…

And now I have it propped up with ice.

Praise God it’s not broken. Seriously. I rolled it over completely.

What a wonderful opportunity to practice my faith in healing! And also a great reminder to take care of the little things that don’t seem like they’re a big deal.

Turns out they really do matter.

Just like the scriptures say that it’s the little foxes that spoil the vine. It’s the little holes that trip you up.

I won’t be at the gym tonight like I had planned, and I originally wondered if God wanted anything for the blog today.

Yes. He does.

Looks like I’m the what not to do example for all of us!

Catch the foxes for us, The little foxes that spoil and ruin the vineyards [of love], While our vineyards are in blossom.

Song of Solomon 2:15 AMP

I’m grateful for the following addition given to me by Ashley Hopkins, would-be gym friend tonight, Youth Leader and part of the Worship Team at Gloryland Bridgeport, when I laughed about why I wouldn’t be showing up and what God was showing me.

It’s also the little holes and gaps in your faith that you leave unattended. I don’t know about you, but it never fails that when God presents an opportunity to choose Him; whether it be reacting differently, or spending time differently; if I choose the ‘wrong path’ He always uses a similar or same situation to get my attention again.

FILL YOUR HOLES

Ashley Hopkins

Amen amen!

Let’s turn our focus towards the Lord and ask Him to reveal the little foxes, holes or gaps in our hearts that He is eager to help us fill!
